We are a unique community of diverse families and friends that takes pride in our differences and continues to be open to everyone seeking to learn more about God and how faith can change lives.
Nestled on a small hill off of Ridge Avenue, just west of Philadelphia in Lafayette Hill, PA, Messiah's story began in March 1952, when the original 4½ acre property was purchased — its Victorian mansion becoming our first worship site. Wesley Hall, our present sanctuary, broke ground in 1954 and was completed the following year, and the church took the name Messiah in 1957.

Leading With Purpose, Serving With Love
Pastor J brings 30+ years of ministry experience, a native of Philadelphia with a passion for preaching, teaching, and youth ministry. He and his wife, Dr. Charnita Johnson, have two grown children and have called Messiah home since July 2023.
